The Project

It seems like, for every poster we create, we get two or three ideas for new pieces to create. After illustrating hundreds of travel posters depicting popular travel destinations, we started getting ideas of the things people like to enjoy at those destinations, things like coffee, beer, and wine. We started making art of those tasty beverages, then we started producing works of mod art, art celebrating state pride, coastal art, and wilderness art.

The Challenge

There are so many regions where coffee is grown, beer is brewed, and wine is made, so many different ways these delicacies are served, it would be hard to figure out where to start! Fortunately, some of our calendar licensees needed 12 coffee, beer, and wine images per year, so we had fun with themes based on flavors, origins, and lifestyles. We also had a blast researching what people liked most about the 50 U.S. states, and what folks gravitated to most in travel art, mod art, and National Park art.

The Solution

Creating unique and original art that will catch the eye and hold it means being intentional and strategic. It means finding out who drinks coffee, beer, and wine, and why. It means finding out who travels to different places, and what stands out to them about those places. For each collection featured here, we studied vintage art depicting those places and things, and we created our own collections of classic-looking poster art to sell on our site and to license to our clients.

Wine

These designs came alive with color. The mood, genre, era, and storylines behind wine production were amplified via rendering techniques, hand-lettering, and font choices. The finished designs were ideal for wall decor, and the series has been a success with wine enthusiasts worldwide.

Beer

The beer art came alive with a clever combination of color and cheeky hand-lettered type. The finished designs were ideal for wall decor and man caves, and the series has been a success with beer savants everywhere.

Mod Art

This collection of mod posters was our tipping of the hat to the mod art era of the 1960s. We had fun with the sharp lines, color contrasts, and edgy, no-holds-barred design style that revolutionized the era and created a new generation of artists and illustrators.

State Pride

Every U.S. state has characteristics about it that fill residents with pride and make them eager to tell you why their state is the best place to live in the nation. We performed deep research on each state, uncovering the unique aspects of each that make it a special part of the Union. Then we set to work creating a poster art collection dedicated to all 50 U.S. states.

Coastal Collection

For those who don’t live on the beach, we created a poster art collection that allows them to bring the beach to them! Wistful and pleasant, chock-full of feel-good vibes, this collection celebrates everything we love about the coast.

Lake & Lodge

Perfect as wall decor for the cabin, lodge, vacation rental, cottage, or chalet, these posters were inspired by iconic American wilderness vacations and outdoorsy pastimes. Each original illustration features one of the many favorite outdoor activities that have been enjoyed across the U.S. for decades.
