The Project

In 2015, ADG founder Joel Anderson took his family on an RV trip to see several National Parks. He was so inspired by what he saw, he decided to create a poster for each of the 59 parks to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service (which was only a year away!)

The Challenge

Some parks have one or two iconic features. And some parks are so vast and varied, that one poster cannot possibly depict the essential history or character of the place. And in addition to creating poster art, Joel and his son Nathan decided to publish a coffee table book with photos, poster art, history, and travel tips as a part of the Centennial celebration.

The Solution

Team ADG produced original illustrations for each of America’s National Parks and published a book called 59 Illustrated National Parks, all in time for the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016! Since then, ADG artists have continued creating original art of the National Parks, with the collection now containing well over 300 original poster designs. The best-selling book is sold in almost all of the park visitor centers. The artwork is now available as keepsakes, posters, in books, and as other gift items. Every year, a significant portion of the proceeds is donated to the National Parks Foundation to help promote, preserve, and protect our national heritage of wilderness and wonder.
